Your pictures are yours.
In short
- Trimaginator has no accounts and no ads, and nothing in it follows you across other apps or websites.
- Your photos, videos and projects are made and kept on your device. A picture leaves it only when you order a print of it.
- The app sends usage statistics that are not linked to who you are.
- When you search for free photos, videos or music in the app, your search goes to that library (Pixabay, Jamendo or Freesound), and what you pick is downloaded from them.
- Purchases go through Apple, and prints are sold by Peecho. We never see your payment details.
Who we are
Trimaginator is published by Paul Ollivier, an independent developer based in Paris, France, who is responsible for the personal data described here. His details are in the legal notice.

What stays on your device
Everything you make in Trimaginator is created and stored on your iPhone, iPad or Mac: the photos and videos you open, your projects, the looks you save, the sounds and music in your projects, and anything you record.
Subject and depth detection use Apple’s on-device frameworks (Vision and Core ML). Trimaginator does not use generative AI and does not send your pictures to any server to process them.
Your projects only leave your device when you choose to: when you export or share them, AirDrop a project to another device, or order a print.
During the public beta, Apple’s TestFlight may send us crash logs and any feedback you choose to submit through TestFlight. Apple describes this in the TestFlight app. The App Store version has no crash reporting.
Usage statistics
The app sends usage statistics to TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany), which processes them for us on servers in the EU. Each one says what happened, for example a picture was made, an export finished or the Pro offer was shown, as a category or a range: never a file name, a picture or anything you type.
It comes with a random identifier created when the app was installed (not your device’s identifier, and not linked to your Apple Account), the app version, the device model, the system version and your language and region settings. TelemetryDeck does not store IP addresses. Beta builds are marked as tests.
We use these statistics to see which features are used and what to improve: that is our legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). They are never used for tracking or advertising. If you object to them, write to us.
Free photos and videos
When you search for free photos and videos, the words and filters you choose are sent, when you press search, to our server (media.trimaginator.com, on Cloudflare), which asks Pixabay with our own key. Pixabay receives your search with our server’s address, not yours.
As Pixabay requires, answers are kept for 24 hours in Cloudflare’s cache, filed under the search alone, so the same search is not asked twice. Cloudflare also keeps a technical log of each request to our server, search words included, for a few days.
Thumbnails, previews and the file you choose are downloaded straight from Pixabay’s servers, so Pixabay sees your device’s IP address, as any website does. This is covered by Pixabay’s privacy policy. Your project keeps the author’s name and the item’s page so they can be credited; that stays on your device.
Music
Music search is part of the public beta. You can search two libraries:
- Jamendo. The app asks Jamendo directly, while you type. Jamendo receives your search words and your device’s IP address, and the track you choose is downloaded from Jamendo, under Jamendo’s privacy policy.
- Freesound. Your search words are sent, when you press search, to our server, which asks Freesound with our own key and keeps the answer for one hour, with the same technical log as above. The music you choose is downloaded straight from Freesound’s servers, which see your device’s IP address, under Freesound’s privacy policy.
The music you pick is saved in your project, with its credit, on your device.
Permissions
Trimaginator only asks for access when you use the feature that needs it. You can change these at any time in Settings.
- Photos (add only), to save your pictures and videos to your library. Opening a picture uses Apple’s picker, which gives the app only what you pick.
- Camera, if you use the live camera.
- Microphone, to record sound with a live camera recording, or a new sound for a video.
None of this is sent anywhere, except a picture you order a print of.
Purchases
Trimaginator is free, with a one-time Pro unlock sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment. We receive no payment details and no information about who you are. The app checks your purchase locally with Apple’s StoreKit, including whether you bought the original Trimaginator.
Print orders
Prints are sold, made and shipped by Peecho (PEECHO B.V., the Netherlands). Trimaginator receives a commission on each sale. If you order a print:
- The app sends our print server (print.trimaginator.com, on Cloudflare) a print-ready copy of your picture, made by the app and without camera data such as location, with its size, your project’s name, the product you chose and your device’s language. The project’s name becomes the product’s title at checkout, so rename the project first if you’d rather it didn’t appear.
- To list the products, the app also sends your device’s region setting, so prices are shown for your country.
- The picture is stored in Cloudflare’s storage under a random web address, so that Peecho can fetch and print it. Anyone with that exact address could open it, but it is not listed or linked anywhere. It is deleted automatically after 90 days; the checkout link stops working after 60.
- At checkout, Peecho collects your name, address, email, phone number and payment details to make and deliver your order, and may keep a copy of the picture to reprint it, under its own privacy policy and terms of sale.
We use the picture only to have your print made and to help with any problem with your order. The legal basis is the purchase you ask for (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
When you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and help you, and we don’t add you to any mailing list.
This website
trimaginator.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics and no tracking, and its fonts are served from our own site. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Links to YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, TestFlight, Peecho and Pixabay take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
If you choose a language on this site, your browser remembers it on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
Who receives data
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) hosts this site and our two servers and stores print pictures, for us. Transfers to the United States are covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the EU’s standard contractual clauses.
- TelemetryDeck GmbH (Germany) processes usage statistics for us.
- Pixabay, Jamendo, Freesound and Peecho receive what is described above when you use them, and handle it under their own policies.
- Apple handles purchases, and TestFlight crash logs and feedback.
How long
- Print pictures: 90 days.
- Search answers in our server’s cache: 24 hours for photos and videos, one hour for music.
- Cloudflare’s technical logs: a few days.
- Emails: as long as needed to help you.
- Everything else stays on your device until you delete it.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to get a copy of it. To use any of these rights, email support@trimaginator.com. You can also complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL, or to the authority where you live.
Statistics and searches are not linked to you, so we usually cannot tell which ones are yours; we will say so if that is the case.
We never sell personal data.
Children
The app asks no one for a name, an email address or an account. Statistics, searches and print orders work as described above for everyone. Buying a print from Peecho is for adults: children should ask a parent.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app’s release notes.
